Rosalía: "Money, pleasure, or power don't inspire me."
Elle magazine interviews the singer, who is immersed in the recording of her new album.

Barcelona"The strength to continue being a member must come from a pure place," says Rosalía in the interview published by the magazine ElleThe singer from Sant Esteve Sesrovires is on the cover of the magazine's latest issue, which has dedicated a space to reviewing her career and explaining her current situation. She's currently focused on finishing her new studio album, of which she hasn't yet released any news; there's no date for its release or even what team has been supporting her throughout the process. In the article, written by American journalist Suzy Exposito, Rosalía asserts that the silence and disconnection from the media spotlight she's been practicing for weeks are necessary to continue creating, as money, pleasure, and power don't inspire her. "The driving force that drives you to continue composing must come from a pure place. Reasons like money, pleasure, or power aren't fruitful, and nothing truly interesting comes out of it. These are topics that don't inspire me," she says.
Rosalía has stopped working with El Guincho, the musician and producer who has accompanied her on her albums. The evil desire (2018) and Motomami (2022). Now she's alone in charge of the production of the new project and admits that it's a challenge because she has always nourished herself from the synergy she experiences with others. She likes to work with the same people long-term, but she's aware that sometimes the paths separate. This is what happened with El Guincho, whom she hasn't seen for a while, but that doesn't mean she holds a grudge. "I feel grateful to every person that life has allowed me to meet," she also says when referring to her ex-partners, C Tangana and Rauw Alejandro.
At the beginning of the year, Rosalía began filming her scenes as special guest of the third season ofEuphoria, the HBO series that follows a group of high school students in the United States. It is not her acting debut, this was Pain and glory (2019), the film directed by Pedro Almodóvar in which he appears singing alongside Penélope Cruz, who stars in the film and with whom he now has a friendship. "What he's able to convey is truly special," Cruz says in a statement in the same article.ElleThe actress explains that filming the scene in which they appear together was fun because they were both nervous, Rosalía because she had to act and Cruz because she had to sing. "It was fun to share this stress," says Cruz.
Since the release of her debut album, Los Angeles (2017), Rosalía has not stopped reinventing herself, surprising and exceeding all expectations. With only three albums released, she has achieved worldwide recognition and won several awards, such as the Grammy for Best Alternative Album with The evil desire in 2020, which he won again in 2023 with MotomamiSince her last project she has tried to stay away from the media spotlight although the paparazzi have caught her on some occasions, such as at the party for the 32nd birthday of the singer Charli XCX or Walking with her current partner, Emilio Sakraya. The singer compares her creative process to that of Björk, who says that in order to create, periods of privacy are necessary: "For a seed to grow, darkness is needed," says Rosalía, recalling the Icelandic singer's words.
