Sometimes, for those of us who watch a lot of movies due to professional obligations, it might be better if we hadn't seen so many films. This, which may seem like a tongue-twister, a contradiction, or a stone in our own eye, is made clear in films like Relay, which isn't a bad movie, but it requires innocent eyes to fully enjoy it. If you've seen it before and remember Michael Clayton, that portrait that makes Relay from a cold and at the same time disgusting corporate world that manages with discretion intimidating internal business problems that can lead to a reputational crisis will seem unoriginal to you.
If you also have the series in mind Mr. Robot, about a vigilante hacker who is somewhat antisocial, Riz Ahmed's character, a negotiator always at the side of the victims who hides behind a complex communications system, you would never say that he is so mysterious or fascinating (and in part he is, yes, but it would be more so if he had been kept completely silent throughout the entire film). And if you carry on your back a backpack with I don't know how many spy plots and thrillers conspiracy theorists seen, it is likely that after fifteen minutes you will give yourself spoilers and see what the plot twists will be, and even how the whole plot will end. Relay Some good ideas spark (narrative, visual, thematic...), agreed, but it's not like it's raining on wet ground.
