The landscape would have to change drastically for this not to end up being the Spanish comedy of the year. It's very subtle, has a script that makes you say "Yes, sir," and speaks heartbreaking truths with a wry smile. Beyond its mischievous observation of certain customs of our time, it resonates with the new tones and forms of contemporary humor. It rubs shoulders, for example, with the menagerie of Pantomima Full's videos, all of which are based on a common theme: self-deception as the guiding principle for many people in our present-day world.

As the days go by and the years push past, Víctor García León is becoming one of the great Spanish comedy directors of this century. Go away from me, Selfie, Europeans and High capabilities This places him in a very rewarding and necessary third path: there's room to run between the broad humor of big-budget popular films and the extravagant humor of certain alternative movies. García León explores this no-man's-land with talent and effectiveness, as filmmakers from the United States, France, or the United Kingdom would—countries with a wider and more refined range of cinematic comedic tones.

High capabilities It speaks of a low-intensity class conflict, understanding some current elements of that historical struggle almost as a ridiculous First World problem. A couple with a comfortable, but not luxurious, life sees an opportunity to climb the social ladder by enrolling their son in an exclusive private school. In the process of convincing themselves that this is the right place for them (the self-deception we mentioned earlier), they get to know the other parents at the new school. And they're a circus: elitist ladies from expensive gated communities, loudmouthed and passive-aggressive executives (how perfectly this type of character is portrayed). Juan Diego Botto) and first ladies of drug traffickers. Too much caricature? In the magnificent way García León presents it, it seems almost like a documentary.
