Kapwani Kiwanga, winner of the Joan Miró award

French-Canadian artist Kapwani Kiwanga was awarded the 2025 Joan Miró Prize this Thursday. Kiwanga, who has lived in Europe since 2005, uses archival research to rethink hegemonic narratives that have defined the course of global history.
