BarcelonaThis year, the La Mercè Fireworks Festival will feature the signature of brothers David and José Muñoz. The duo led by Tow have been chosen to make the musical selection for the event, which will take place on Sunday, September 28th, at ten o'clock at night on Avenida de la Reina Maria Cristina. Since 2023, the event has featured the selection of a renowned artist with a special relationship with the city of Barcelona. Two years ago, Sónar was used to commemorate its 30th anniversary with a journey through the voices and rhythms of the five continents through experimental sounds and great classics of electronic music. Estopa, one of the most popular groups to emerge in Catalonia over the last 25 years, has connected with several generations with its unique style. Its fusion of rumba, pop, and rock has left its mark, and its songs are popular anthems.
The group, which remains a key reference in the music scene, will share with the La Mercè audience a selection of music that moves them and makes them vibrate. They will offer "a soundtrack chosen from this universe of brothers David and José Muñoz, but at the same time carefully thought out to establish a dialogue with the design of the equipment of the renowned Pirotecnia Igual," according to the Barcelona Institute of Culture in a statement.
