A crossover featuring Halsey, The Black Crowes, and Suede

BarcelonaThe Cruïlla festival announced a few weeks ago the first big names for its 16th edition, which will take place from July 8 to 11 at the Parc del Fòrum: artists such as David Byrne, Pixies, Jovanotti, Renée Rapp, Bomba Estéreo, Two Door Cinema Club, and Mishima. This Wednesday, it unveiled the rest of the lineup, with the exception of five or six groups still to be confirmed. Among the new additions are the rock acts The Black Crowes and Garbage from the US and The Hives from the Swedish band, and the pop band Suede from the UK (who released a very good album in 2025). Antidepressantsand the danceable offering from fellow Brits Faithless. Younger is the American Halsey, who will headline the opening day with a concert celebrating the tenth anniversary of her album. Cruïlla always takes care of local artists, who often occupy prime time slots. In the 2026 lineup, in addition to Mishima and Dan Peralbo y el Convoy, which had already been announced, the selection includes La Ludwig Band (who will release an album in the spring), Els Pets (who are still celebrating their 40th anniversary tour), Rigoberta Bandini, Alizzz, Svetlana, Xicu, and Yicu.

Artistically, the festival's festive atmosphere is conveyed by a lineup that aims for cross-generational appeal on three of the four days, while targeting a younger audience on Wednesday, where, in addition to Halsey, Renée Rapp, Sen Senra, and Yami Safdi, among other artists, will perform. Stylistically, having abandoned the salsa splendor of previous editions (when Rubén Blades and Juan Luis Guerra performed), the program maintains its founding eclecticism, perhaps with a greater emphasis on rock and pop rooted in the eighties and nineties, though it doesn't forget younger R&B and jazz acts. As happened in 2018One of the highlights of Cruïlla 2026 will be the concert by David Byrne, a musician who always surprises with unconventional stage shows. The festival has also announced the daily lineup.
