Canadian Margaret Atwood wins the Joan Margarit International Poetry Prize

Canadian writer Margaret Atwood (Ottawa, 1939) has been recognized with the third Joan Margarit International Prize for her poetic work, which "stands out for a mastery of language capable of addressing themes such as feminism, ecology, love, and disappointment."
