Alosa's popular songs triumph at the Enderrock Awards 2026
The folk duo sums three awards, while Oques Grasses and Ginestà take home two of the most outstanding prizes at the gala held at the Girona Auditorium
GironaGirona has once again become the capital of Catalan music with the celebration of the XXVIII Enderrock Awards. The gala, presented with great ease by communicators Alba Riera and Andreu Juanola, has been, once again, a great showcase of the country's musical scene, with numerous live premieres and a review of the year's great milestones.
The night had three clear protagonists: Alosa, Ginestà, and Oques Grasses, who led the awards ceremony that combines public voting —revealed during the night— with critical recognition, chosen by about forty music journalists from the Catalan Countries, which had already been made public at the beginning of the year. The Barcelona duo Alosa was the big winner with three awards: the album El primer cant del matí (Ceràmiques Guzmán) won the award for best folk album according to both the public and critics, in addition to the distinction of best new artist of the year.
The Osona-based Oques Grasses, who in October will make history by filling four concerts at the Estadi Olímpic to say goodbye to their fansfilling four concerts at the Estadi Olímpic to say goodbye to their fans, received two of the night's most special awards: best artist of the year and best live performance, both by popular vote. Also with two awards, the duo Ginestà has confirmed their good moment with the award for best pop-rock album for Només viure (Halley Records) and for best song for Tot el que ens queda.
Previews from Dan Peralbo, Joan Dausà and Fades
Aside from the awards announcements and thank-you speeches, live music has been the other great protagonist of the night at the Girona Auditorium, with a dozen brand-new or exclusively presented songs, which sounded with a frankly improvable quality on television broadcast. Among the most applauded performances, the electric hurricane of Dan Peralbo i El Comboi, who has previewed Un bitllet per tu from the upcoming album Quin goig (Montgrí), as well as Millor amb ell by the invaluable Ludwig Band, who this Friday present the album Pel barri es comenta (L’Animeta), at La Mirona de Salt. The audience also vibrated with the tenderness of Joan Dausà, who has premiered Ho podríem intentar, after the Majorcan pop of Maria Jaume, the performance by Ouineta or the combative dances of Fades, who have given their all with the preview Treu-te el bikini. But it wasn't all current premieres, as one of the most emotional moments of the gala was the effusive interpretation of El jorn dels miserables, by the quintet from the show Llach. Gener 76 from the Barnasants festival, directed by Manel Camp on piano and with Joan Reig unleashed on vocals, which served as a soundtrack for the in memoriam.
Artur Blasco, Sílvia Pérez Cruz and two Catalan rock legends
In the realm of tributes and iconic Catalan music groups, Artur Blasco has received the Enderrock Honor Award for his fundamental work in the recovery of the diatonic accordion in the Pyrenees and the preservation of the traditional songbook of the mountain regions. "Our country is indebted to the cultural legacy of the generations that preceded us; it is the clearest demonstration that we are a country, a nation even without a State," said Blasco, who was applauded by the audience. "We have drawn heavily from Artur's popular songbook, thank you very much, long live Catalan music and free land," the Alosa group replied when collecting one of their awards after Blasco.
For her part, Silvia Pérez Cruz has been honored with the Career Award, in recognition of three decades of an artistic career marked by excellence and international projection. Special awards also recognized Girona's Sopa de Cabra, who received the Enderrock Gold Award as a benchmark Catalan rock band, and Lax’n’Busto, honored with the Enderrock Star Award coinciding with the group's 40th anniversary and the return of singer Pemi Fortuny to the band.
From the total of ten awards, a recognition for The Tyets was a must, winners of the best urban music album with Cafè pels més cafeteros (Luup Records) by popular vote, as well as for Remei de Ca la Fresca and Sidonie, valued by critics. Just like Rosalía, who received a Special Award for her majestic project Lux (Sony).
Regarding the classical and jazz awards, presented a day earlier to avoid prolonging the gala, they recognized Josep Carreras with the honorary award, Ignasi Terraza with the career award, and Raquel García-Tomás as best composer. However, family music groups did not take home any statuettes because they refused to be relegated to the lesser gala the previous day.
