Since before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, new car sales and registrations in Spain had not surpassed 100,000 units. This year, the total stands at 112,820 cars, 18.6% more than the previous year and representing a cumulative annual increase of 14% compared to sales figures for 2025.

Although sales of electric, plug-in hybrid, and conventional hybrid vehicles have soared in Catalonia at the start of 2025, reaching a 60% increase compared to the previous year, gasoline-powered cars priced under €20,000 remain the market leaders.

The Dacia Sandero is the clear leader in 2025, maintaining the dominance it already held in 2024 and previous years. With more than 16,000 units sold, the Sandero aims to retain its leadership in 2025. The best-selling Sandero is the entry-level version, costing €13,940, with a 90 hp TCe gasoline engine, as well as the Step01 variant based on the S3 2.
