Pimec takes a new step to participate in the Spanish social dialogue

An order from the Ministry of Labor urges the incorporation of the Catalan employers' association into the National Advisory Commission on Collective Agreements.

BarcelonaPimec takes a new step toward becoming part of the social dialogue in Spain. The Official State Gazette (BOE) published today an order from the Ministry of Labor that continues and develops the provisions of a previous provision governing the appointment of union and company representatives to the National Advisory Commission on Collective Bargaining Agreements (CCNCC), pursuant to Royal Decree 1362/20.

Pimec believes that this publication "represents progress toward the effective fulfillment of the legally established provisions regarding representation." The organization, chaired by Antoni Cañete, has already urged CEOE and Cepyme in writing to agree on the distribution of company representatives to the National Collective Bargaining Agreements Commission following the terms required by this order.

At the same time, it expresses its willingness to "contribute constructively to generating the necessary consensus to reorganize business representation on this body, following the recognition of its incorporation and that of the SMEs it represents."

The order gives the CEOE ten days to agree with Pimec on the distribution of the six positions corresponding to the employers' side. Cañete and the employers' association Pimec are aiming to be part of all Spanish social dialogue bodies, including the Economic and Social Council (CES), which has historically criticized the lack of representation suffered by small and medium-sized businesses in these bargaining tables.
