Pope meets with Ayatollah al-Sistani in Iraq

Pope Francis met on Saturday with Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, the highest Shiite authority, at his home in Najaf, Iraq, in the pontiff's first official post-Covid trip. The two religious leaders spoke for an hour, especially about the persecution of Christians in Iraq.
