AstraZeneca's vaccine does not protect against South African variant of covid -19

According to a study by the National Center for Biotechnology (NCBI), AstraZeneca's vaccine is only 10.4% effective against the South African variant of the virus. It therefore concludes that it is not effective in preventing mild to moderate infection with this variant of covid-19.
