Hello, how are you?
It's impossible to analyze the current situation in our country without looking around, where events are worsening daily. Tonight, Russian drones have entered Polish airspace and Poland has shot them down. One might think they were drones headed for Ukraine, but NATO is talking about a deliberate provocation by Moscow. This is the first time Russian drones have had to be shot down over NATO territory, an area to which we belong and which Spain has an obligation to defend.
And yesterday, as you may have heard, Israel attacked Hamas negotiators it was scheduled to meet with in Qatar.. Consider the possibility of a ceasefire dead, and even more so of peace (even if it's a graveyard peace). In both cases, the message is very harsh: you can kill, you can bomb any placeInternational law, human rights, and life itself don't count, because violating them has no consequences. And this is an existential threat to everyone.
Given the state of the world, news such as the fact thatThe Supreme Court judge has sent the Attorney General to trial and imposed bail of 150,000 euros. for the case of the leaked emails from Ayuso's partner, and Begoña Gómez, the wife of President Sánchez, testifies this afternoon before Judge Peinado. And even These dialectical exchanges are dwarfed in today's control session in Congress., the first of the political course:
Feijóo: "You're only afraid now. You're only driven by fear. Fear of the judges for what they know. Fear of the media for what they publish. Fear that your partners will let you down. Fear that the people will speak at the polls."
Sánchez: "The government has placed Spain on the right side of history. What's happening in Gaza is genocide. Repeat it after me, Your Honor: it is genocide."
And yet, tomorrow is September 11th. We know the list of what's not going well, like funding, commuter trains, housing, or the emancipation of young people. We also know the list of challenges we face, like making a country of more than eight million inhabitants, two of them recent arrivals, function. The list we've forgotten, if we've never made it, is the list of elements for self-esteem, starting with the fact that we are a victory for universal freedom and culture. Three hundred and eleven years ago, we were almost certain to disappear as a country, and yet, here we are, fully aware of belonging to a nation, full of excellence and universal Catalans in literature, painting, architecture, music, scientific research, audiovisual communication, and sports. For that reason, and nevertheless, many congratulations and may we have a happy Diada.
Good morning.
