Wednesday will be colder and a day of inactivity while waiting for another front
Temperatures will remain below average, with a risk of some morning showers on the central coast.
BarcelonaThe weakening front that crossed us this Tuesday did so with more of a whimper than a bang, bringing plenty of clouds and little rain. Some precipitation is still expected in the Pyrenees until tonight and into the early hours of tomorrow, with the snow level around 1,100 or 1,200 meters, and a few drops or spritzes are possible in the western part of the country. Tomorrow morning may see some isolated showers between the southern Costa Brava and the Barcelona area, but overall it will be a calm Wednesday, with northerly winds in the outer reaches and colder temperatures both day and night. Another weakening front will arrive on Thursday, and the long weekend for the Immaculate Conception looks set to be quite pleasant and enjoyable.
Wednesday: Temperatures drop
During the early morning hours, some light rain will still fall in the Pyrenees, and in the first few hours, a few isolated showers are possible between the southern part of the Girona region and the coast and pre-coastal areas of Barcelona. However, no rain is expected anywhere for the rest of the day. The sun will generally prevail, with some remaining cloud cover in the Pyrenees and northeast. Only a few scattered showers are expected between Mallorca and Menorca.
The mistral and tramontana winds will blow throughout the day in the south and in the Empordà region, while in the Ponent region and the central and southern districts of Barcelona, light to moderate westerly winds will blow. Temperatures will be falling, with cooler conditions both day and night.
New front worn down on Thursday
The passage of a weakening Atlantic front on Thursday will bring another day of mostly cloudy skies, but without much rain. Light precipitation will return to the Pyrenees, with the snow level between 1,100 and 1,300 meters. Scattered, light showers are also expected in other areas, especially in the northern half and the western part of the region. All of this will be accompanied by similar or slightly lower temperatures.
From Friday onwards and throughout the long weekend of the Immaculate Conception, the weather is expected to be quite calm and pleasant. Only some light, intermittent rain is expected on the northern slopes of the Pyrenees. Temperatures will rise significantly towards the end of the week, with milder middays contrasting with the cold mornings.
