Cold morning and still calm today, but on the verge of a new change in the weather
Minimum temperatures will remain in the late autumn, but will rise starting Wednesday and showers will arrive.
BarcelonaWe've started the week with temperatures clearly below average. A chilly, late-autumn atmosphere is making itself felt again this morning, forcing us to bundle up before leaving the house early. As was the case yesterday, today we wake up with lows below 5°C in much of the inland area, with some local frost and a temperature inversion. There are also light frosts in the Pyrenean valleys and Pre-Pyrenees, with temperatures ranging from 5°C to 10°C on the pre-coast and Costa Brava, and from 8°C to 13°C along the rest of the coast. However, minimum temperatures have risen slightly, and maximum temperatures will also rise by a few degrees. Today will be another very calm day with few nuances. But tomorrow, Wednesday, a front will arrive that will reactivate the instability, with scattered, generally light showers. All this on the threshold of the Castanyada, with temperatures set to rise.
Tuesday: few changes
We wake up again to a chilly weather more typical of mid-to-late November than late October. However, minimum temperatures have risen slightly overall, and maximum temperatures will also rise, with many temperatures between 17 and 23°C. A calm autumnal atmosphere will be expected. Sunshine will dominate, with some morning fog and early clouds that will increase in the west and south starting in the afternoon.
The Tramontana and Mistral winds will blow moderately until midday, and will disappear in the afternoon, with a generally southerly wind. Late in the day, some light showers will arrive in the southern interior of the Valencian Country.
Weather change Wednesday
Starting Wednesday, we'll enter a dynamic of Atlantic fronts that will circulate across the peninsula from west to east. This will translate into variability in our country and the risk of some light showers, as the heaviest rainfall will remain in the west and north of the peninsula. It will also bring a gradual rise in temperatures, bringing us back to more typical seasonal values, with less cold temperatures.
For now, Wednesday will be cloudy with some scattered, generally weak showers. The most likely are expected towards the west, the Valencian Community, and the regions of Tarragona and Barcelona. There will be little rain overall, and the northeast of the country will be less affected by the rain. According to current weather maps, the Castanyada night appears to be calm and milder.
