On the verge of a weekend with a bit of everything
Saturday will see a peak of warmth, but starting on Sunday a new change will bring down temperatures and some showers will reappear.
BarcelonaThursday's low clouds in coastal and pre-coastal areas will diminish this Friday. Calm weather will prevail, with no rain, despite some shading in the sky. Temperatures will rise further, pending their peak on Saturday. We will begin the first weekend of October with a warm peak that will bring a more late-summer atmosphere, with highs around 30°C in the warmest areas. But on Sunday, the passage of a weak cold front will bring some showers and cause temperatures to drop again.
Friday: calm and warmer
Friday's weather will be calm and pleasant, with no risk of precipitation. In the morning, there will be significant fog inland, with low clouds remaining in coastal and pre-coastal areas of Barcelona and nearby areas. In the afternoon, there will be generally quite sunny weather, with harmless cloud cover in mountainous areas, while bands of high, thin clouds will move across the country from west to east, potentially clouding the sky.
Early in the day, it will be moderately cool, and in the middle of the day, the weather will be warmer, with rising highs, especially on the coast and pre-coastal areas, after Thursday's decline. Many highs will range from 21 to 26°C, but locally higher, especially in the West and especially inland from the Ebro, where temperatures can reach 29 or 30°C in some cases.
Weekend with two faces
On Saturday, temperatures will peak, with a warm but transitory peak. These temperatures will be above average and more typical of late summer than early October, with many highs of 23 to 28°C, but hovering around 30°C in the West and inland areas of the Ebro. The Indian summer of Sant Miquel has arrived late this year, although it will be short-lived. Nights will also be milder than expected. All this will be calm and with more sun than clouds, while we await the occasional afternoon shower in the Pyrenees, especially on the north face.
Between Saturday night and Sunday night and early morning, some instability will resume. There will be a risk of scattered showers or drops, especially in the northern half. A weak front will cross over, bringing more cloud cover on Sunday, with the risk of some very patchy showers, especially in the afternoon in parts of the northeast and some coastal sections.
All of this will pave the way for a significant drop in temperatures, which will return to normal between Sunday and the beginning of next week, with very cool nights and cool to mild middays.
