Winter weekend
The powerful Atlantic storm Ingrid This weekend will affect us more. It will bring more instability and a blast of distinctly colder air. This will cause temperatures to drop significantly, with a fully wintry feel and values slightly below average, especially on Saturday.
The first day of the weekend will start off eventful. During the early morning hours, a band of showers will cross us from south to north, with heavily clouded skies and a snow level that will drop from the initial 1,000 m to 600 or 500 m, locally lower during periods of heavier showers. Therefore, snowfall is possible well below the Pyrenees. This situation will pass quickly, and in the afternoon the showers will concentrate in the northeast and pre-coastal areas, with this snow level plummeting. Separately, precipitation will fall in the Pyrenees, in the form of snow at all elevations.
All of this will be accompanied by strong winds, ranging from mistral to westerly, in the central and southern parts of the country, and strong northerly winds in the Empordà region and the Pyrenees peaks, where the localized weather pattern is also present. On Sunday, temperatures will rise slightly and the sky will be variable, with no rain generally. However, from the afternoon onwards, a new front will arrive, bringing showers from the west and more snowfall across the Pyrenees, especially on the northern slopes.
