They reach up to 40 ºC in the southern Pre-coastal and on the coast of Tarragona

The pall of smoke from the forest fires in Galicia and Castile has meant temperatures have not been as extreme across the country. However, by 3 p.m., some record highs for August had already been recorded:

• Miami Platja: 40 ºC
• Nullas: 39.9 ºC
