Sunday with clouds and more showers
The arrival of more fronts will keep the weather unstable in Catalonia
BarcelonaThe weather will remain uncertain with more showers. In fact, a good spell of precipitation swept through the south of the country yesterday morning, with accumulations of up to 40 l/m2 in Miami Platja (Mont-roig del Camp), 12 l/m2 in Tivissa and in the PN of Ports and 11 l/m2 in Riudecanyes. Throughout the midday and afternoon, showers continued in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, with amounts ranging between 3 and 5 l/m2 (in Espot, up to 14 l/m2). At the end of this information, we will add a more extensive list of accumulated rainfall amounts.
And the weather will continue to be unstable in the coming days, new frontal lines will arrive that will keep the sky very cloudy and there will be more precipitation. Temperatures, however, will not undergo significant changes and will remain similar to those currently recorded.
Sunday: a new spell of showers, but more scattered
The weather will remain unsettled, with a risk of showers, especially in the afternoon in parts of the Pyrenees, Pre-Pyrenees, coastal areas, and the Ports. Early in the morning, a prefrontal line is already leaving some precipitation in the Lleida Pyrenees, Poniente, and the south of the territory, which will subside by early morning. So far, up to 7 l/m2 have already accumulated in Boí (2,500 m), 6 l/m2 in Gisclareny and Cadí Nord, and 5 l/m2 in Els Alamús or 4 l/m2 in Lleida-la Femosa and Les Borges Blanques.
In the rest of the area, the sky will remain changeable, without ruling out some weak and local drizzle or showers, but with generally abundant cloudiness, even on the coast, where a light easterly flow will keep the atmosphere more charged.
The temperature will again be around 22 °C or 23 °C in many regions and there will be a slight decrease where it ends up raining.
The afternoon will bring more general showers to the Pyrenees and western Pre-Pyrenees with the arrival of a precipitation line from the west. Towards sunset, it will rain in the Lleida plain, the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees of Lleida, and more irregularly in the south of the country and in Central Catalonia. At night, the rain will fall more generally in the northeast and will reach the coast.
Uncertain start to the week with new showers
Instability will remain thanks to the presence of a small
pocket of cold air at high altitudes that will feed the growth of
cloudiness and will be the cause of a Monday with more widespread rain,
as at the beginning of the week it could rain in any region. The
showers will be more widespread and a little more abundant, even more
intense and with thunderstorms. The temperature could drop slightlyfrom Tuesday onwards. Meteocat has issued a warning for heavy rain, in effect
for the same Monday and until Tuesday.
