Summer does not want to leave: the heat is going overboard today
Temperatures will hit the ceiling with more than 35 ºC in the warmest areas, without ruling out some record
BarcelonaPay attention today to the temperatures, as they will hit a ceiling, with rampant heat that is completely out of place for these dates. The most notable rise will be experienced in inland areas and in the south of the country, with an environment that will be more typical of the peak of summer than of early autumn. Maximums may locally reach 38 ºC in the interior of the Ebro, and the breaking of some heat records cannot be ruled out, for example, in the Pyrenees and the Pre-Pyrenees. The mercury will drop over the weekend, but the environment will remain too warm for the time of year. All this with continued sun and anticyclonic calm, while waiting for the weather to start changing next week.
Friday: heat peak
Temperatures will be the main protagonists this Friday. They will rise further, both by day and by night, with a particularly marked rise in maximums in the south and inland. In the middle of the day, the atmosphere will be fully summer-like, of a heatwave, with unbridled and extraordinary heat for us to be in the first days of autumn.
Many maximums of 30 to 35 ºC are expected in general, but in the West and the Ebro valley these figures will be exceeded, with values of 35 to 38 ºC. We will see if some heat records end up being smashed.
A scenario that will contrast with the cool atmosphere of the early hours, although a rise in temperature has also been noted at first light. All in all, with absolute calm and sunshine in general. There will only be some low morning clouds on the south coast, as well as some strokes of local, thin, high clouds of a decorative nature.
Changes next week
The weather will remain calm over the weekend. The novelty will be that on Sunday afternoon clouds will grow, with a bit more momentum in the Pyrenees, with a risk of some initial local showers, especially in the Lleida sector. Over the next few days, some low clouds will repeat in coastal stretches, especially in the morning on the southern coast. In addition, there will be some traces of high and thin clouds.
However, throughout the coming week the anticyclone will gradually leave and open the doors to an increase in instability and a drop in temperatures. At the beginning of the week, some showers may already fall in coastal and northern sections, and throughout the days the downpours and storms would increase, especially inland and in mountain areas, although, for the moment, no major rain episode is in sight. A situation that we will have to specify, but which would put an end to this extraordinarily dry and warm weather.
