No news: sun, heat at midday and afternoon storms

The south wind will blow with gusts exceeding 30 or 40 km/h

BarcelonaThe weekend has begun with very pleasant weather in general, a situation that will continue in the coming days, with no significant changes in sight. Even so, the spring-like dynamic will be maintained, with sunny mornings and light clouds, and afternoons with cloudiness and storms in the northern half, which in some cases will move out of this area and affect more regions. Temperatures will rise and the atmosphere will be warmer, especially on Sunday and during the next week, with maximums that will again exceed 30 °C in Ponent and in the interior of the Ebro valley.

Sunday: hotter and stormy

Temperatures will still rise further on Sunday, especially along the coast, the pre-coast, and the southern half of the country. Very warm atmosphere at midday, with values higher than they should be for this time of year. Many maximums will range between 23 and 28 °C, but in Ponent, Priorat, and the Ebro interior, they may again brush or locally reach 30 °C. Although it will be hotter, clouds will grow with more energy, and starting mid-morning, the first showers may escape. It will be from midday and during the afternoon that showers and storms will spread throughout any part of the Pyrenees, Pre-Pyrenees, and northern Catalonia Central, and will also approach Montseny and the regions of Ponent.

Precipitation will gain intensity and extent, and some showers may also reach points in the northeast and the prelitoral of Barcelona. Some downpours will occur that could locally leave more than 20 l/m² in just half an hour, even with hail or sleet, a fact that has motivated a warning for half-hour rainfall intensity in the regions of Berguedà, Lluçanès, Osona, Garrotxa, and Ripollès.

Monday: sun in the morning and showers in the afternoon

Few changes to start the week, with a very sunny Monday morning and an afternoon marked by the growth of clouds from the pre-coastal areas towards the interior. Some storms may appear after lunchtime, affecting a good part of the northern third of the regions. The temperature will remain with few changes, with a minimum that will rise everywhere and a maximum that could even rise slightly on the coast and in the west, reaching 28 or 29 °C where the mercury climbs the most.
