A new warmer weather forecast will bring temperatures close to 39°C in Ponent.
Low clouds will be present in the southern half of the country.
After a weekend of stable and very pleasant weather, the week will begin more stable and calm, with the only noticeable change being more low clouds on the southern Catalan coast and in the Valencian Community and a few thunderclouds in the eastern Pyrenees, initially with only the risk of a few showers. Temperatures will begin a marked rise, leading to intense heat throughout the country between Tuesday and Wednesday.
Monday: more sun and heat
On Monday—a holiday for many—the sun will shine and temperatures will rise again, but it will be mainly from Tuesday onward that the main event of the African warm air bubble will arrive, and temperatures will soar. However, some low clouds will remain in the southern half and thunderclouds will form in the north, even with the risk of a few rain showers. The atmosphere will be midsummer and more typical of July than early June, with highs that could exceed 34°C or 35°C in the West, a prelude to a more pronounced rise in temperatures in the coming days. Tropical nights will also gain ground, with marked muggy conditions on the coast. All this will be relatively calm, with more suspended dust clouding the sky.
Tuesday: scorching heat inland
Temperatures will rise further on Tuesday, with highs ranging between 34 and 38°C inland—and occasionally higher in some areas of the West—and around 30°C on the coast. The sun will be accompanied by some cloudy spells, which in this case will bring showers and thunderstorms to the Pyrenean regions.
Mercury will be more stable starting Wednesday.
The presence of a DANA off the southwest of the peninsula will generate more unstable weather in some areas of the Peninsula, especially on Wednesday and Thursday, when it will be absorbed by a cold upper air channel and could affect the western half. However, its effects in our country will be limited, with only a few scattered, minor showers forming in the northern and western halves. However, temperatures will stop rising and stabilize, with a still fairly warm atmosphere.
