Forty years of ups and downs

Ràdio Morell was founded in 1985 thanks to the support of the town's people.

TarragonaJordi Rovira, Antoni Virgili, Antoni Granell and Martí Macias are the core that, out of passion and hobby, began to conceive what a radio station could be. In 1985, Radio Morell was founded. They were music lovers and involved in the associative and political life of Morell. The fledgling radio station evolved, and many people from the municipality's associative network joined. It was also a meeting place.

After a few years, Ràdio Morell stopped operating and didn't restart until 2010, during Eloi Calbet's time as the station's coordinator. The studios were at the top of the Cultural Center and moved to the lower floor, where they are currently located. Calbet, who would become mayor of Morell in 2019, strengthened the station by once again promoting the involvement of associative networks, with more than thirty programs and a professional structure with almost daily programming and specials.

Radio El Morell was shut down again, and in 2019, with Calbet as mayor and communications councilor, it took a further step and decided to semi-professionalize the program with a coordinator who wanted to combine news and programming with collaborators. This is when Jesús Sarmiento took over as the new coordinator.
