BarcelonaStockard Channing has a long film, television and theater career, but for most viewers she will always be Rizzo, the rebel from the musical "Grease". Although she has remained professionally active, on a personal level she decided some time ago to live as isolated a life as possible. As she herself explained in an article recently published in the "Sunday Times", she has a "happily hermit" existence following the death of her partner, producer Daniel Gilham in 2014. The couple were together for 25 years and now Channing lives a chosen solitude.

Born in New York in 1944, in 2019 the actress decided to move to London, a city where she has often worked in various theatrical productions. The move to the English capital took place five years after Gilham's death and shortly before the covid epidemic began. "I have lived alone since I lost Daniel and I am happy being a hermit," she details. The actress, 82, was married four times before starting the relationship with Gilham and assures that each of her partners represents a different era of her life.

Channing, who is about to premiere the second part of the film "Practical Magic", explains that currently the center of her life are her dog and her bed. "After my dog has had breakfast and I've made a good pot of coffee, the dog walker takes the dog and I go back to bed. My ideal morning," she says. "My duvet is full of ink stains because for years I've been writing a diary. I sit there with my pen and my thoughts. What do I think about this or that? I only get out of bed when I need to go to the bathroom. At my age, life is governed by bodily functions".
