BarcelonaAfter from a complicated summer, After the defeat in the Lisbon final and a transfer window that saw them bid farewell to beloved players like Rölfo, Engen, and Jana Fernández, Barça women's team returned to work in the Liga F as if nothing had happened, with a resounding 8-0 thrashing of Alhama at the Johan stadium. A weak start to a match where the interesting thing was to see the attitude of a team that should have made it clear that it remains a favorite to win it all, even if it hasn't been able to emerge stronger from the transfer market.

And so it was. After winning the Copa Catalunya and a successful tour of Mexico, Pere Romeu's team didn't let down one of the weakest teams in the division. With just 17 first-team players left, it was time to make room for homegrown players, like Clara Serrajordi, a 17-year-old starter in midfield. The player from Llinas showed her talent and made a lasting impression. Graham Hansen scored the first official goal of the season five minutes later, and shortly after, a brilliant Aitana Bonmatí made it 2-0. Polish striker Pajor, the team's leading scorer, then added the third thanks to a fine move by Salma Paralluelo, and before halftime, Ona Batlle added the fourth with a superb shot. In the second half, Romeu made substitutions, while more goals were coming, including Graham Hansen's second and three from the always-electric Clàudia Pina.

The Vallecas player, initially a substitute, had already come from a tour in which she had demonstrated her goal-scoring instinct and took advantage of the opponents' defensive opportunities to score two goals. In the final minutes, Pina continued to insist, scoring two more goals, one of which was disallowed. But she didn't stop until she got the hat trick, Taking advantage of a corner where Mapi León was trying to score directly. Clàudia Pina never misses. She's a true wonder who always raises her game.

The match also allowed us to see the debut of Manchester City's Laia Aleixandri, the only new signing this year. And the first minutes with the first team in the league for Sabadell's young defender Aïcha Cámara. A good debut that made it clear that with only 17 players, this team should continue winning titles with ease, because the quality is there. And so too should the good work in the youth teams. The Champions League will be something very different, of course, as the level of the opponents there will be higher. But we'll get there. First, it's time to get the league started. On Sunday, September 7, Barça will travel to the Basque Country to face Athletic Club on Matchday 2.
