BadalonaHappy as if he'd learned to prioritize the good over the bad, Ricky Rubio was introduced as a Joventut player. The 34-year-old point guard explained the process that led him from thinking about retirement to deciding to play with the team that gave him his debut when he was just fourteen. "I was already clear that I'd reached my limit, but at the end of April, four things happened that made me take life differently. It all started with a conversation with someone I didn't know, and that resulted in three or four actions in three consecutive days that made me rethink the situation. I let a week pass to breathe and then decided."

"Last year I was lost. I studied some scenarios, but out of desperation. During the month of August, I decided to take a year off to think about myself. Throughout the entire process, I've been on a roller coaster ride. It's an enriching, but difficult process. At many times, I felt like retirement was getting closer and closer, and I was trying to listen to life. I was trying to listen to life. There were some things that made me rethink the situation. It was like a seed that entered me, calmly, where my ego didn't speak. During the month of June, I started talking and saw that the hope was growing more and more.

"The campaign in which I thanked the cities where I had played and the interview with Jordi Évole They helped me heal from the inside out. I'm fine, and that's the most important thing. I don't know how the new challenge will go, but I hope to enjoy it a lot. For me, I've already won," acknowledged Rubio, who will once again wear the number 9 that made him famous around the world.

"Joventut was the only option in my head. I haven't considered any other option. It's not about winning titles, it's about feelings, and returning to Penya was a unique feeling. Joventut is a special club. That excitement and that feeling are what have had the greatest impact on my return. I've never gone a year without playing, but it came from contributing, from adding, from doing whatever it takes to help the team athletically.

"Will this be the last club where I play basketball? Yes! Can I change my mind, but I think in a year I'll say the same thing," Rubio clarified, praising the comments made by Tomás Dagà, the strongman at Scranton, the investment vehicle of the Grifols family that controls the majority stake in the Penya. "On a scale from 0 to 100, my desire to play the first game is 200. I'm very excited," he summed up.
