BarcelonaBarça visits Sevilla's home ground in the last match before the season's first international break. Without Joan Garcia, who had to be substituted at halftime of the thrashing against Racing de Santander (7-2) and will rest to avoid risks, Hansi Flick's side will look for their seventh win of the season in La Liga to continue as the competition's sole leader. "When the players are away we are worried, but I believe in the national teams. I try to think positively, when they return we will have a few days to recover and focus on Getafe," the German confessed.
Everything points to the coach keeping Wojciech Szczęsny in goal, as Dominik Livaković is still adapting to Barça's style of play. The German has once again defended the Polish goalkeeper after his error last Wednesday. "Tek knows our philosophy. In his first season, we won the League with him as a starter and he was one of those responsible for that title. He is a fantastic goalkeeper with a lot of experience and that is what we want to see."
Sevilla also arrives with good momentum. Luis García Plaza's side has won four of the six matches they have played so far. The Andalusians prevailed against Deportivo de la Coruña (0-1) and Valencia (1-0) in the last two matches prior to the visit of the 'blaugranes'. With the goal of having a quiet season without suffering, Sevilla will look to cause an upset and bother the Catalan team again, just as they did last year, when they thrashed Hansi Flick's men 4-1.
Barça has the absences of Frenkie de Jong –who is suffering from a tear in the internal lateral ligament of his right knee– and Roony Bardghji –with a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee–, in addition to Joan Garcia. On the other hand, Luis García Plaza will not be able to count on Lucas Stassin, Kike Salas, or Rubén Vargas.
