VigoSabadell continues to add points. Ferran Costa's team drew at Balaídos against Celta's reserve team in a match where they carried the weight of the game but lacked firepower (1-1). The territorial dominance of the 'arlequinats' did not translate into clear chances in a match where they always showed the ambition to win away from home for the first time. Sabadell, however, seems to have been in the division their whole lives, even though they are one of the newcomers. They have craft and ambition. And they know how to take a hit, only to get back up afterwards.
The 'arlequinat' team entered the match in the worst possible way, as in the sixth minute Miki Codina gave the ball to the home player Marín, who did not forgive. As had already happened in the previous away game, in Mallorca, a defensive error penalized the team. But on this occasion, Sabadell did react successfully. Despite not having clear chances, the dominance of the match belonged to a Sabadell side that equalized in the 23rd minute of play thanks to a header by Edgar that was deflected by a defender. A goal that was celebrated with a dedication to forward Nico Gioachinni, who underwent surgery this week. The American will miss at least six months of competition.
The Catalan team had the ball and posed a threat with crosses from the wings, but they also had to be alert to the local counter-attacks, which led to a yellow card for Edgar and one for Pere Pons, who was substituted at halftime to avoid getting hurt. Costa brought on Ángel Baena in his place, an offensive change that allowed Sabadell to have even more control, but without creating clear chances. And when Baena scored after receiving an assist from Urri, he was narrowly offside.
Ferran Costa sought the win with more changes, bringing on the Russian Obolskii for a Gastón Vallés who had done little. Alain Ribeiro also made his debut, one of this season's signings, who had been injured until now. But Celta's reserve team managed to defend their area, settling for a point that allows Sabadell to keep adding to their tally. In fact, a Catalan error in the final minute almost ended in a second local goal, but Eneko Aguilar prevented it with a great defensive action. Sabadell has only lost one match in their return to the Second Division and remains in the upper part of the standings, although they still haven't won away from home. Today, however, their first goal away from home arrived.
