The Frenchman Pierre Gasly (Alpine) has caused a surprise with the first ‘pole position’ of his career and will start first at the Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix at the Monza circuit. The Englishman George Russell (Mercedes) will start second and the Australian Oscar Piastri (McLaren) third.
