Laporta calls an emergency meeting to address registrations
The last resort is to obtain a guarantee of 7 million

BarcelonaThe La Liga debut is approaching, and Barça has yet to finalize the registrations for the players signed and renewed this summer. Time is running out, and the last resort is for the board members to provide a guarantee of 7 million euros to balance the books in the short term and for La Liga to approve Joan Garcia, Marcus Rashford, Wojciech Szczesny, Roony Bardghji, and Gerard Martín to be available for Saturday's match in Mallorca. Therefore, as Rac1 reported, president Joan Laporta has called an extraordinary board meeting for this Wednesday at 12 noon.
According to the station, the guarantee would serve to offset the losses generated by the sections, primarily basketball. However, this measure is not viewed favorably within the board. On the one hand, because it means digging into their pockets. But above all, because it kicks off an election year with the risk and uncertainty that this entails.
Barça clarified that this board meeting was supposed to be held in Korea, during the Asian tour. However, at the time, it couldn't be held due to scheduling reasons, and it was agreed that it would be held once the expedition returned to Barcelona. Thus, the meeting will address the topics that weren't discussed, plus the possibility of requesting approval to register the players.
The club has several open efforts to unblock registrations, and its top offices clarify that approval is a last resort. Before that, there's Crowe's audit, which must give the green light to the seats. VIP and allow the club to count the €100 million from that asset as revenue. Sources at the club have explained that the equipment is already in operation—it was started up at the Gamper Stadium, as some of the seats are also at Johan Cruyff Stadium—but they clarify that the auditor has not yet issued the report and, therefore, the paperwork has not been sent to La Liga. At the moment, the club has not confirmed this information.
The other fast-track route to registering players is the La Liga medical report, which should determine whether goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen's absence is considered long-term—four months or more. If so, Barça could use a significant portion of his salary to register Joan Garcia. The club should receive a response this Wednesday, although at the moment, they have no news, according to the offices.
