Guide to today's Barça - Eintracht Frankfurt match: schedule, where to watch and lineups
Barça are looking for three very important points in the Champions League
BarcelonaBarcelona and Eintracht Frankfurt will face off today, Tuesday, December 9th, at Camp Nou (9 pm) in a match corresponding to the sixth round of the Champions League group stage. Barça will be looking for a win that would bring them closer to the top eight, which grant direct access to the round of 16. The German side, meanwhile, wants to secure a point to be one of the 24 teams that will continue in the competition.
The two teams are in quite different form. Barça are coming off a 5-3 win away at Betis, putting them four points clear of their eternal rivals, Real Madrid, in La Liga. Hansi Flick's men have turned things around after their disappointing 3-0 defeat at Chelsea two weeks ago. Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt suffered a heavy 6-0 loss away to Leipzig in the Bundesliga a few days ago and also lost their last Champions League match against Atalanta 3-0. Dino Toppmöller's side are going through their worst spell of the season and are also missing key players up front, as they will be without Michy Batshuayi and Jonathan Burkardt due to injury. However, they welcome back Ansgar Knauff. For Barça, Flick will be without Marc-André ter Stegen, Dani Olmo, and Gavi due to injury. Ronald Araujo is suspended, but he wouldn't have played the match anyway due to mental health issues.
