Ferran Torres celebrates the World Cup with a cap inspired by Trump's slogan: "Make Spain great again"

One of the most cheered players by the almost two million fans who took to the streets of Madrid to celebrate the second World Cupof the Spanish team was Ferran Torres. Despite everything, the Valencian forward, author of the decisive goal in extra time of the final against Argentina, also became a protagonist for another reason.

For a good part of the parade, Ferran wore a red cap with the slogan "Make Spain great again", an adaptation of the slogan "Make America great again" popularized by the President of the United States, Donald Trump. The phrase did not go unnoticed and quickly went viral on social media, becoming one of the most talked-about images of the celebration.

Ferran was one of the most cheered footballers during the tour. The scorer of the decisive goal in extra time against Argentina saw thousands of fans chant his name after a World Cup in which he had received numerous criticisms for his performance before becoming the hero of the final. After the match, the forward defended his role, stating that "destiny was written" and that "God gives things to those who deserve them most," referring to the criticisms received during the tournament.

Recognition also came from his teammates. At the final ceremony in Cibeles Square, captain Rodri Hernández defined him as "a player often unfairly criticized" and asked the public for applause for the Barça attacker, who ended up being one of the main protagonists of the celebration.

Once the celebrations were over, Ferran Torres will enjoy a few days of vacation before joining Barça's preseason in mid-August. With only one year left on his contract, his future remains open: the club has not yet presented him with a renewal offer and his name continues to be linked to Luis Enrique's PSG.
