Europe retains golf's Ryder Cup in New York

Team Europe has retained the Ryder Cup title by reaching the fourteen points needed to defeat the United States and retain the trophy they won two years ago in Rome. The European team, captained by Luke Donald, struggled on the final day to claim the trophy.
