Oxfam Intermón Trailwalker, the world's largest team-based sporting and charitable event, celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2026. On April 18th and 19th, the Girona Greenway will once again be the setting for four different distances, where thousands of participants will walk to raise funds.

Oxfam Intermón Trailwalker 2026 maintains its sporting challenge with 100, 55, 25, and 10-kilometer options, always in teams, and the commitment of its participants to raise funds to participate. The main event, the 100-kilometer race, starts on Saturday, April 18th in Olot and covers the entire Vía Verde route to Sant Feliu de Guíxols. There are also shorter races: 55 km (Olot-Salt) and 25 km (Olot-Les Planes d'Hostoles). The entry fee for the 10 km race (Santa Cristina d'Aro-Sant Feliu de Guíxols) is €500. This amount is raised through activities, donations, sponsorships, and the sale of charity merchandise, and is an essential part of the event's identity. One team, one cause, and one solidarity challenge to combat the climate emergency

The funds raised will be used to finance kits Family hygiene supplies, emergency latrines, and drinking water sources and systems are essential. Natural disasters have tripled in 30 years due to the climate emergency, and millions of people continue to lose access to safe water. Women and girls walk kilometers every day to obtain it, and entire communities are forced to migrate. Africa, Asia, and Latin America will be the destination of the funds raised.

Teams will consist of up to 6 people: 4 walkers (or runners) who will cover the chosen distance together, and 2 support personnel who will accompany them by car to provide assistance throughout the journey. In the 25 km option, the number of participants is 4 to 6; while in the 10 km option, it can be from 2 to 10. In these two cases, support is not required.

Several municipalities in the Garrotxa, Selva, Gironès, and Baix Empordà regions are actively participating with the involvement of their town halls, institutions, and associations. Olot, Les Preses, Vall d'en Bas, Sant Feliu de Pallerols, Les Planes d'Hostoles, Amer, Inglés, Salt, Girona, Cassà de la Selva, Llagostera, Santa Cristina d'Aro, Castell d'Aro, and Sant Feliu de Guíxols are part of a unique route through a privileged landscape.

Registration for the Oxfam Intermón Trailwalker is now open on its official website (https://www.oxfamintermon.org/es/trailwalker) and with its 15th anniversary it wants to celebrate the journey so far with the motto "15 years walking for a world without poverty".
