It's worth noting that Pallars Sobirà boasts the most important lake area in the Pyrenees, a water paradise structured around lakes, ponds, rivers, and streams. Thanks to this spring's rains, the water level is expected to be good enough for rafting, hydrospeeding, and canyoning. The water level will allow the 59th Tourist Sports Rally to be organized normally.

59th Sports Tourism Rally

The Noguera Pallaresa Tourist Sports Rally, declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest, has been the river festival since 1964, only suspended during the year of COVID-19. It has become the most complete and diverse showcase of whitewater activities practiced throughout the year.

Concentrated over a week, and mainly in Sort, they become official state slalom competitions for federated kayakers. For other enthusiasts who want to enjoy this sport, the Rally offers the chance to participate in the popular Llavorsí-Sort descent, a children's tourist descent, Eskimo rolling (a sport of Eskimo origin) in a pool, or the Night Rafting Open.

This year there will be a kayak cross competition, a new modality that will be Olympic for the first time at the Paris 2024 Games. You can also participate in the route along the Lo Piquerot fixed orienteering circuit, a guided route through the lakes of Mainera, a guided tour of Sort and the La Calderada Collective Presó-Muse, among others.

The organization, in charge of the Pallars Sports Association and the Sort City Council, with the essential support of various entities and groups in the region, hopes that the diversity of kayaking is reflected in this program, for practitioners (of all levels and ages) and for spectators, making kayaking the 'kayak'. is to walk inside or outside the river as well as for those for whom adventure has no limits (river.sort.cat).

It's worth remembering that Sort and the Pallars Sobirà region offer a wide range of cultural and scenic attractions year-round, which are not closed for summer holidays. These include hiking, cycling, and horseback riding routes; astronomical observation; gastronomic routes of wines, landscapes, and cheeses; literary routes; unique cultural spaces such as the Ecomuseum of the Shepherds of the Àssua Valley, the church of San Víctor de Seurí and the pictorial intervention by Santi Moix; and historical memory spaces such as the Camino de la Libertad Prison-Museum.

In short, a wide range of activities to enjoy the Pyrenees all year round, and in summer too!
