Logistics with AI: the new revolution at SIL Barcelona
Artificial intelligence is the new ally in logistics. Companies are increasingly betting on this technology and SIL 2026 will show, from June 3 to 5 at Fira de Barcelona, which new advances are imposing themselves in the sector.
AI is already the great ally of the logistics sector. This is revealed by the XVI Barometer of the Logistics Circle 2026, published by SIL Barcelona, the reference fair for Logistics, Transport, intralogistics and Supply Chain. The event returns to Fira de Barcelona, in Montjuïc, from June 3 to 5, to showcase the advances of this new tool that is on its way to transforming the sector.
The fair, organized by the Barcelona Free Trade Zone Consortium (CZFB), will have new spaces dedicated to innovation, digitalization and talent. Some of the main novelties of the twenty-eighth edition will be the SIL Lab and the AI Corner. These are two dynamic areas where technological demonstrations, immersive experiences, inspiring talks and practical workshops will be held, and practical cases, tools and trends on the use of artificial intelligence and other technologies in the supply chain will be shared.
Another of the great innovations will be the new formats and content within the SIL Knowledge program with the participation of more than 250 speakers in a total of 7 knowledge spaces distributed throughout the exhibition center. The program includes new international sectoral conferences such as the International Logistics Summit, which will bring together industry leaders from different countries. They will do so in collaboration with organizations such as CSCMP, ESC, GSA, Alice, ELA, TuComex, and ICIL. The Spain Air Cargo Day, which will highlight the work of air cargo, with organizations such as the AirCargo Club, BCL, and ACE; the Investors Day, the Responsible Shipper Gala, or the Connectivity Day. Each of these is added to those already held in previous editions such as the COACAB Congress or the UNO Logística Technical Conference, among others.
According to data from the XVI Barometer of the Círculo Logístico 2026
Specifically, 76.6% of logistics companies already have some AI tool for their operation or are in the process of implementing it, compared to 22.4% who have not yet done so. This figure reaffirms that companies continue to trust AI one year later: 76.3% already did so in 2025.This is confirmed by the XVI Barometer of the Círculo Logístico 2026, published by SIL Barcelona. The study points out this trend with revealing figures. 72.5% of the logistics directors and managers who participated emphatically consider that AI is a tool that will allow their companies' staff to be more productive and efficient and that, contrary to what might be thought, it will not have a negative impact on their staff. Only 22.9% believe it could affect a small number of their workforces, and only 4.6% of respondents anticipate reducing them considerably.
