Wounded a minor of 10 years by a stray bullet in a shooting in Badalona
They have evacuated the girl to the hospital with a minor wound to the arm and her life is not in danger
BarcelonaA 10-year-old girl was shot and injured this Sunday evening in a shooting in the Sant Roc neighborhood of Badalona. The Mossos d'Esquadra received the alert around a quarter past seven in the evening, when several people reported hearing shots near Còrdova street in the municipality. As reported by RAC1 and confirmed by police sources to ARA, when the Mossos arrived at the scene, they found shell casings on the ground. As a result of the incident, a minor was taken to the hospital in a private car after being hit by a bullet in the arm. It is a minor injury and the girl's life is not in danger.
The Catalan police have confirmed that it was likely a ricocheting bullet that was not aimed at her, according to the initial hypotheses they are working with. For now, however, it is not clear how the shooting occurred or its motive, which is now being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of the Mossos d'Esquadra. Furthermore, the force has deployed agents from the anti-riot unit of the Operational Resources Area (ARRO) to the scene to reinforce security in the neighborhood after the shooting.
The city's mayor, Xavier García Albiol, has linked the events to a fight between clans and has assured that the injured girl is a member of one of the families involved in the shooting. The popular politician has also criticized the Spanish government in a social media post because he believes it refuses to modify the laws that, in his opinion, allow for events like those that occurred this evening in the Badalona neighborhood.
