Arrested the mother of the baby who they found dead on a landing in La Mina

BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a woman who is allegedly related to the death of the baby who was found dead this week, inside a plastic bag, on a landing of an apartment building on Llevant Street, in the La Mina neighborhood of Sant Adrià de Besòs. The arrested person is the mother of the child and is 33 years old, according to sources close to the case who explained to ARA. The arrest took place this Thursday, the day after the baby was found, and the woman has been released on provisional bail and is under investigation after appearing before the court this Friday.

As precautionary measures, the judge in Badalona who has taken charge of the case has withdrawn her passport and prohibited her from leaving the State. While the case is being investigated, the woman must report periodically to the court. For now, the investigating judge has not classified the events as any specific crime.

This Wednesday, around one o'clock in the afternoon, the Mossos d'Esquadra received notice that the lifeless body of a baby had been found in this building. Several patrols were dispatched to the scene, where they found the child's body, and several units from the Medical Emergency System (SEM) also attended.

The investigation of the case is in the hands of the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of the Mossos d'Esquadra, and the agents of this unit are in charge of clarifying the circumstances of the events.
