Waiting lists in public healthcare
One of the great Achilles' heels of the Catalan healthcare system is waiting lists. Therefore, reducing the time to have a visit with the doctor, undergo a diagnostic test or have surgery is one of the country's priorities. However, more and more Catalans are waiting longer than they should by law. In fact, on average we wait more than 100 days for a visit with a specialist and almost three months for a test. L'ARA has delved into waiting list data and in this Sunday's dossier, in addition to thoroughly understanding the situation, we have also spoken with some affected individuals and experts who help us analyze those aspects for improvement in data collection throughout the State.
