University pre-registration 2025: How to enroll in July

University entrance exams of 2025 will be held on June 11, 12, and 13. Students take the university entrance exams by orderly selecting which degrees they would like to study. This list of preferences is created during pre-registration, and places are assigned in order of grade, that is, if there is a greater volume of demand than supply for a specific degree, only those with the highest grades will be able to access those studies. If they do not achieve the desired grade, students can enroll in another option on the preference list.

This list is created by the students themselves during university pre-registration, which takes place between June 3 and 30 through the University Access PortalOnce inside, students can sort the degrees offered at all universities in Catalonia based on where they wish to enroll. Below, we explain how to enroll in the degree for the June 2025 intake, whether or not you received your first-choice grade, and when.

First assignment registration

On Friday, July 11, the first allocation lists will be published, where students can check if they have sufficient grades to enroll in their first choice, or in one of the other options (second through eighth). For example, if you don't make it to your first choice because you didn't meet the cut-off mark, you may be able to enroll in your second choice. Universities usually contact students and inform them of the registration deadline so they don't lose their place on the degree. In any case, the dates for enrolling in first-choice programs are July 15-18 (inclusive).

Students who didn't get a place in their first choice have two options. The first is to wait for the second allocation of places and see if the cut-off mark for the programs they weren't eligible for drops, as some students who had chosen that option ultimately don't enroll. The second option is to keep the assigned preference as final and complete the "Final Assignment" procedure, open from July 14 to 16 (both inclusive), which allows you to enroll. If you don't get a place in any of the marked preferences, you must wait for the second assignment and the reassignment of places.

Pre-registration: second assignment and final assignment

The second allocation will be published on July 24th. Students who did not gain access to their desired degree or any of their preferred options in the first allocation have more opportunities. The allocation period is from July 25th to 29th (both inclusive). Remember that if you do not continue with the allocation process and do not enroll in the degree and university of your choice within these three days, you will lose your place.

If you started the "Continue the Place Allocation Process" procedure between July 24th and 28th, you'll be able to check whether you've been assigned to the degree programs you had marked as favorites in the following assignments. On each of the indicated dates, you can continue this process or enroll. It's important to note that many degree programs begin the academic year in September. Therefore, students who enroll on these dates start later than the rest.
