The Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) and the Catalan Traffic Service conducted a checkpoint operation on Saturday on the southern section of the AP-7 motorway following a high number of accidents in the Ebro region. The operation resulted in 22 speeding tickets, nine tickets for truck drivers entering prohibited areas, and two tickets for using a mobile phone while driving.
