Three arrested for diverting public money from a foundation in Esparreguera
Those arrested did not hold public office and the investigation is still under investigation.
BarcelonaThree people were arrested on Tuesday in an operation by the central anti-corruption area of the Mossos d'Esquadra for allegedly embezzling public money from a job placement foundation in Esparreguera. The case is under summary secrecy, but sources from the Catalan police have confirmed to the ARA that none of the three people under investigation held a public office. According to the report, The Newspaper, part of the public funds received by the foundation to integrate people with intellectual disabilities, people at risk of social exclusion and vulnerability into the labour market would have ended up being used to pay private expenses.
