ValenciaThe Civil Guard of Altea and the Local Police of La Nucia, in the demarcation of Alicante, have assisted a woman trapped in a fire in her home. The density of the smoke and the magnitude of the flames prevented the woman from leaving the home, and the officers managed to force the bars of a window, access the interior, and evacuate her while the firefighters arrived.

At 04:30 on the morning of July 26, the Civil Guard was alerted via the emergency telephone 112, about a fire in a home in La Nucia where there could be people at risk inside.

Immediately, officers from the Civil Guard of Altea and the Local Police of La Nucia moved to the scene. While the firefighters were arriving, the officers realized that there was a woman inside the home who was in danger, so they tried to break down, without success, the door of access to the home.

No injuries or human losses

Then, using whatever tools they had at their disposal, they forced open a small window near the door, managing to enter the home and rescue both the woman and her dog, who were trapped between the thick smoke and the flames.

Shortly after, the firefighters arrived, managing to prevent the fire from spreading to the adjacent homes and extinguishing it. The home was left severely damaged due to the magnitude of the flames.

Housing rubble after the fire.

Fortunately, the victim, a 64-year-old woman who lived alone with her pet, did not suffer any significant injuries, and was attended to at the scene by health services.

At the moment, the causes that originated the fire are unknown and are being investigated by the Fire Investigation Team (ESIN) of the Civil Guard of the Valencia Zone.
