BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) arrested a 43-year-old man yesterday afternoon, allegedly linked to the violent death of a woman in Constantí, Tarragona. The incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. when a patrol car providing police support to a tow truck on the AP-7 highway observed a vehicle stop and the driver and sole occupant get out.
Upon exiting the car, the man explained to the Catalan police that he had the body of a woman believed to be his partner in the trunk. Officers immediately investigated the situation and arrested him as the alleged perpetrator of a homicide. Despite the man's confession, the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) are still working to determine the identity of the victim and the location where the homicide allegedly took place. The relationship between the victim and the detainee is currently unknown, but an investigation is underway to determine whether it could be a domestic violence crime.
The Tarragona Criminal Investigation Division has taken over the case, which is under seal.
