BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested two more minors, 16 years old, allegedly linked to the death of a man in Manresa on September 1st. These two arrests are in addition to the two arrests the police already made on the same day of the incident, two minors aged 15 and 16 with criminal records, one of whom was on supervised release after having spent time in a juvenile detention center for attempted homicide.

That day, during the Manresa festival, the first two detainees, P.O. and O.A., were part of a group of youths that confronted another group, where the victim was present, according to police sources. The confrontation repeated itself in the early hours in front of the home of one of the people who was part of the victim's group and ended with the tragic stabbing of Carles Vilajosana, a well-known man in the Bages region. The last two detainees were allegedly part of P.O. and O.A.'s group and allegedly participated in the fight.

The latest arrests took place this Tuesday in Manresa, where all those arrested reside. According to sources consulted by ARA, the alleged perpetrator of the stabbing is believed to be one of the two minors arrested on the day of the incident, and these latest detainees are believed to be related to the fight. Even so, it will be important, the same sources point out, to hear their statements to finish reconstructing the events.

Complex history

All those arrested for this incident are of Spanish nationality. The first two detainees, as explained this Monday by ARA, have a long history of problems with the police, with the schools they have attended, and also a complex family context. In fact, the high school had requested the removal of custody from the mother of one of them, P.O., the boy who was also on probation. Both are currently admitted in a closed regime at a juvenile detention center.

The psychologists who had treated them recount that they had a situation of absence of parental figures, a lack of supervision during childhood, school absenteeism, difficult emotional management, impulsivity, and low commitment to society. The police investigation into the events is still open following these four arrests.
