The General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) files complaints against Judge Francisca Verdejo.
The Disciplinary Action Promoter concludes that the complaints are "generic," without any evidence and do not identify the affected parties.
BarcelonaThe General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) has closed the complaints it had received regarding Judge Francisca Verdejo, head of the Second Court for Violence against Women in Barcelona. At its meeting on Tuesday, the CGPJ's Standing Committee received the resolution by which the Disciplinary Action Prosecutor decided to close the information report it had received following a complaint from an individual, because it "is generic," lacks any "circumstantial support," and does not identify the individuals affected. The body itself has already announced that it has received other similar complaints, signed by other individuals, and that they are generic or vague, and it advances that, therefore, they will also be closed.
The complaint, which has now been filed, stated, among other things, that the judge does not guarantee the rights of the victims, and specifically, the person who had filed the document criticized the judge for "not listening to her partner during the statement and interrupting her appropriately, according to the CGPJ.
The permanent commission warns, however, that the complainant did not indicate which judicial procedure he was referring to or who the victim was. The complaint also did not clarify the complainant's relationship with the case, and his name is not linked to any procedure that has passed through the Verdejo court, states the CGPJ.
In the opinion of the CGPJ, the complaint "is generic in its presentation, as it does not specify precise facts or actions, ignoring both the procedure to which it refers and the identity of the people who would be affected." Furthermore, the body says, the complaint "lacks the slightest support." "indiciary", so he decides to archive it.
