BarcelonaCatalonia is once again spending a night on alert due to a rainstorm. For now, this Saturday's downpours are unloading mainly in the Maresme and Vallès Oriental areas, where the capital, Granollers, is once again being punished by torrential rain. Civil Protection has sent a specific ES-Alert to the city in the Vallès region to ask the public to avoid travel, stay away from rivers, streams, and ravines, not to go down into basements, and to move to upper floors if water enters.

The first major incident of this storm, however, has occurred in Maresme. Six crews from the Generalitat Fire Department are participating jointly with the Mossos d'Esquadra and Maritime Rescue in the search for a person who reportedly fell into the stream in Cabrera de Mar. Shortly before nine in the evening, Civil Protection issued a hydrological warning due to the possibility of sudden swells of streams in the Maresme.

The downpour that fell over the Baix Maresme in a short time has been very significant. This is demonstrated by data from the Meteorological Service of Catalonia, which point out that in places like Cabrils the storm has left record figures. In just 10 minutes, 37.88 millimeters have been exceeded, surpassing the 36.8 that fell in la Bisbal del Penedès on October 1st, which until now were the most significant mark recorded in the Network of Meteorological Stations.

Vilassar de Mar has been another one of the municipalities where the rain has fallen with force, reaching records similar to those of Cabrils. The network has been filled with images of the storm in this municipality as well.
