BarcelonaThe CREA scandal is not new to the ARA newspaper: we have been following it for nine years. Since June 2016, when we published the article "A research group at the University of Barcelona has been denounced, accused of acting like a cult."We have reported on all the latest developments in a case that persistently calls into question the effectiveness of university protocols and control mechanisms, as well as the judicial system itself.

The University of Barcelona (UB) has once again denounced the scandal, now at the Prosecutor's OfficeJust as it did following the internal complaints of 2004 and 2016. Many of the "very serious" events that the UB is once again bringing to the attention of the Prosecutor's Office had already been reported twice, but were dismissed.

In contrast, the complaint filed by the founder of CREA, Ramon Flecha, against ARA and against me for daring to explain what was happening, is still active in the courts nine years after the first article.

The justice system and the University of Buenos Aires must find a way, once and for all, to ensure that these very serious acts do not go unpunished and, above all, that they cannot be repeated. They must stop the CREA scandal: their credibility depends on it.
