Teaching competitions: Education will offer a thousand places in March

BarcelonaNew opportunity for temporary teachers in Catalan schools to secure permanent positions. As ARA learned Tuesday morning, the Catalan government has informed education unions and social partners that a new competitive examination will open in March with a thousand vacancies.

Specifically, this new regular competitive examination will offer 1,100 positions, of which the vast majority (1,089) will correspond to the positions that must be filled to meet the replacement rate, that is, positions for teachers who have retired, folded, or become vacant again.

Furthermore, eleven positions in the teaching corps of fine arts and design teachers will also be available in the March competitive examinations.

Regarding the thousand replacement rate positions, it has not yet been specified how many will be allocated to each teaching body, but it is known that they will not be open—at least not in this regular competition—to primary school teachers. In fact, in a statement, Educació has specified that the positions offered correspond to secondary school teachers (ESO and baccalaureate), specialists in specific vocational training (FP) sectors, fine arts and design, and workshop teachers.
