Dozens of striking teachers have blocked access to the Sagrada Familia this Monday morning on Marina street. The action, framed within the labor dispute of the teachers, began at 8:00 AM, when more than 150 educators sat down in front of the Nativity facade, on a Monday that marks the start of a new week of strikes in the sector. The protest prevented the temple from opening its doors at 9:00 AM, as scheduled, and will refund visitors who had purchased tickets.

The protesters wore yellow t-shirts and chanted slogans against the Government's educational policy and the Minister of Education, Esther Niubó, such as "Niubó, Niubó, you do earn too much". In parallel, dozens more people formed a human chain from the la Sedeta school and Sagrada Familia, and carried tables and chairs to the temple to recreate a classroom. Furthermore, they took advantage of the protest's setting to denounce tourist overcrowding and the resources allocated to this model while, they warn, public services are worsening.

The Mossos d’Esquadra have deployed a device with vans and riot police in front of the entrance where the second and some of the corners of the temple's perimeter are located.
